Survey Prep Workshop

Every spring, the LCME hosts a 1-day, in-person Survey Prep Workshop to prepare schools for their upcoming full survey visit. At the workshop, the LCME Secretariat provides information about self-study preparation, survey visit logistics, the independent student analysis (ISA), and LCME standards and elements. Attendance is by invitation only and requires pre-registration. Invited schools have a visit approximately 18-24 months before the workshop (for example, schools preparing for a full survey visit in the 2022-23 academic year are invited to the spring 2021 workshop). Invitations are sent to deans via email at least 4 months prior to the event.

Upcoming Event Dates

2021 LCME Survey Prep Workshop: TBD

Attendance at the LCME Survey Prep Workshop is by invitation only. Schools with full visits in AY 2022-23 will be sent invitations to attend the 2021 LCME Survey Prep Workshop. Attendance is limited to 4 representatives.

School representatives should include the school’s faculty accreditation lead (FAL) and survey visit coordinator (SVC). The additional representatives could be faculty or senior administrative staff who will be working closely with the FAL or SVC in the self-study or site visit process.

Registration is required for our planning purposes, but there is no registration fee. The LCME staff have emailed instructions to deans of invited schools for contact information that will be used to register school representatives for the workshop.

At this time, the generous support from the LCME sponsors covers the cost of meeting space, meeting materials, and food/beverage (breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks) for the LCME Survey Prep Workshop. Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own travel expenses, including, but not limited to, airfare, hotel, ground transportation/parking, meals while traveling.

The LCME Survey Prep Workshop is held at the Learning Center in the AAMC Headquarters, located at 655 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. More details about room locations will be sent registered participants.
