Submitted Questions for the Secretariat
- Element 4.4 states: “A medical school faculty member receives regularly scheduled and timely feedback from departmental and/or other programmatic or institutional leaders on his/her academic performance and progress toward promotion and, when applicable, tenure.” Questions: What does regular and timely mean? Is it preferred to have a consistent process among all faculty levels (Jr. faculty vs. tenured faculty)? Is it ideal to have an annual process? Should student feedback of the faculty member be included in the evaluation?
- Element 6.4 states: “The faculty of a medical school ensure that the medical curriculum includes clinical experiences in both outpatient and inpatient settings.” Question: Does every required clerkship HAVE to include BOTH outpatient and inpatient experiences, or is the expectation that there are both experiences across the entire clinical curriculum?
